Definitions for the week of October 19th.

1. DVD-a disk that is similar to a CD in appearance but usually contains video.

2. Laser-a type of printer that uses a toner cartridge and heat to seal the toner on the page.

3. SDRAM-a type of RAM that is faster than the earlier version.

4. Router-a hardware box that routes networks traffic from one location to another.

5. Scanner- a device that converts an object into a digital image.

6. Intel –a company that produces many of the microprocessors used in personal computers.

7. Zip drive-a device similar to a floppy drive except that it requires a zip disk.

8. Fire wire-a connection to a computer that allows the rapid exchage of information between a computer and the device attached to it.

9. Microprocessor-primary brain on a computer.

10. Flash card-an insert into a digital camera to be used as storage for photographers taken with a camera.
